Peugeot make amazing cars. From the Irish motorist to motor dealers like ourselves, Peugeot’s reputation speaks for itself and as an award-winning marque, there is a full respect for the reliability, good value, safety, and style that embodies every model.
Over the past few years, the high standard set by Peugeot has gone up another notch or two from extra ordinary to superlative. The technological advances, sleek good looks, and the competitiveness in terms of price, performance and specs are literally second to none. The e2008 and e3008 are a case in point. The excellence of these long-awaited electrical dream machines is the reason why many Irish drivers have switched gears to driving electric.
One recent review described the Peugeot’s E-3008 ‘A bright spark in a sea of grey.’ https://www.rte.ie/lifestyle/motors/2024/0805/1461933-1846671941107/
‘The E-3008 is a smart, sophisticated little runabout with around 400+ kms of reliable range. It uses the eVMP platform and powers through the front wheels for a well planted and pleasant driving experience.’ https://businessplus.ie/motoring/peugeot-3008/
Its not surprising that this Peugeot has a received over thirty major awards and is one of the most lauded cars of the decade.
‘The looks have been greatly sharpened up. The car still is very compact and has lost nothing in cargo space over the previous model, with 520 litres available, and 1,480 litres with the rear seats folded. Wheels are available either as 19 or 20-inch, and while their design is controversial to some, I quite liked them. Vive la différence, and all that. The grille, which isn't really one at all in an EV, of course, gets the colour coded paintwork on the individual elements familiar from other recent Peugeot models, which make the car seem a lot wider than its 4.54 metres with the mirrors folded. It's the back that looks really radical, though, with its sharp cut and a "floating" spoiler to optimise aerodynamics.’
The Peugeot e2008 and e3008, meets all the enticements of driving green including the ecological aspect and doing better for the world. But doing your part for the planet becomes a sweet deal when you consider the financial savings that can be made. Peugeot EVs cost 74% less to run than a new diesel car, with ongoing maintenance coming in at almost 30% cheaper. Car tax costs just €120 annually. The savings don’t stop there. New car purchase grants, Ev charger grants, toll reductions and VTR rebates, make driving a Peugeot electric vehicle a no-brainer for the savvy Irish driver. The range is legendary. . The e3008 is a radical departure from previous models and the new facelift brings a coupe design and overall, it’s a handsome beast.
‘Peugeot’s parent company, Stellantis, has also been hard at work at developing its battery technology, and the E-3008 is the first in a wave of forthcoming models to get the firm’s new battery packs. The E-3008 initially arrives with a 73kWh useable battery that promises up to 326 miles on a full charge, while Peugeot will follow this up in late 2024/early 2025 with an even larger 98kWh useable battery pack with a claimed 435-mile range’.
